Hi I'm Claire!

About Me

I’m currently a 4th year university student studying Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, as well as Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. Two Degrees! I enjoy being able to understand the business implications of the applications I code.

Outside of academics, I've worked at UW as a personal trainer and currently work at Laurier as an instructional assistant. I'm also trying to hit a 185 bench, learn the ukulele, and pet every cat I meet!

This summer, I'm working at Amazon on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) team as a Software Development Engineer Intern. Previously, I completed two co-op terms at TD Bank as a Frontend and Backend Software Engineering Intern. On the frontend, I contributed to an Angular-based credit card application, implementing verification checkpoints for 1,000+ daily applicants. On the backend, I developed a Spring Boot REST API for mortgage renewals, achieved 90%+ test coverage with JUnit4, and saved $3,500/month by decommissioning unused environments. I also automated the collection of SonarQube code quality metrics with a Python script, reducing manual developer overhead. From January to April this year, I worked at Fidelity Investments as a Solutions Architect Intern, where I supported a Spring Boot migration for a fund launch platform and created Dockerfiles to standardize application deployment.
