Hi I'm Claire!

About Me

I’m currently a forth year university student studying Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, as well as Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. Two Degrees! I enjoy being able to understand the business implications of the applications I code.

Outside of academics, I've worked at UW as a personal trainer and currently work at Laurier as an instructional assistant. I'm aso trying to hit a 185 bench, learn the ukulele, and pet every cat I meet!

During my 2 co-op terms at TD Bank, I worked as a Frontend and Backend Software Engineering Intern. I contributed to an Angular-based credit card application, implementing verification checkpoints for over 1,000 daily applicants. On the backend, I developed a Spring Boot REST API for mortgage renewals, wrote JUnit4 tests with over 90% coverage, and saved $3,500/month by decommissioning redundant environments. I also saved a lot of developer headache by automating code quality metrics gathering from SonarQube. From January to April of this year I'll be working at Fidelity Investments as an IT Architect Intern, building on my software development experience and providing a new perspective to software infrastructure.
